The Metis Project provides free and engaging learning services for families in NYC. It hopes to create and provide a comfortable environment for students to learn and bond with their tutors. The Metis Project offers core classes, elective classes, test preparation classes, general tutoring, and homework help to ensure students get the most out of the program. In the coming school year, The Metis Project will continue to provide general assistance and subject-specific lessons for families that sign up. Tutors and tutees will be sorted into individual or group classes depending on their preferences and availability. Tutors will work virtually or in-person and meet with tutees according to their designated class times. Tutors are provided with sample lesson plans, curricula, diagnostic exams, and previous tutor-made materials to aid them with creating slideshows and lesson materials to tutor. The Metis Project hosts English, Math, Science, Social Studies, SHSAT, HCHSE, Art Basics, ESL, Read-aloud, Chess, Puzzles & Riddles, and Coding classes for K-8th graders. It also offers general tutoring and homework help services throughout the school year.
