Clubs must have faculty advisors present for all meetings. As a reminder, meetings should generally be on the 3rd-5th floors.

In this club, we play social deduction games (think Among Us but more complicated and without tasks) both after school at in person meetings and over our thriving Discord community. This includes Blood on the Clocktower, Mafia, Coup, Deception: Murder in Hong Kong, and in some cases games created by our club members. No commitment or prior experience is required.
Wednesday
We plan to meet weekly with in person meetings, which have historically taken place only on Wednesdays, as well as holding frequent virtual meetings, even throughout the summer. While an in-person meeting may not occur on holidays or school breaks, the online community holds games at all times of year. If the club becomes extremely successful, we may hold multiple meetings in a week.
When the meetings start, we wait for a few minutes to make sure that everyone who wants to join in on the social deduction game is able to. Some people may show up to watch the game, rather than join it, and these people are equally welcome. Then, the person or people who are running the game will secretly distribute people's roles in the game to the players. Once the roles have been passed out, players may ask the people who are running the game private questions about their role or game mechanics. Then, the game cycles between night, where people use abilities to help their team win the game, and the day, where the members of the majority team must figure out who is part of the minority team before they are eliminated from the game. If time permits during meetings, we may hold a second game, though typically we only hold one per meeting.
The Founder will be the primary person in charge of both organizing and running in-person meetings as well as moderating and running the Discord server. The two In-Person Managers will primarily assist in running the in-person meetings and acting in substitution of the Founder when needed, while the two Online Managers will primarily assist in making sure the online community is an inclusive, safe place where people are heard. However, all leaders are expected to assist both in-person and online, as well as at the clubs and pubs fair.
This organization is unique because there are not very many groups that regularly play these types of games. This group is the only social deduction club in Stuyvesant that focuses on more complex social deduction games, so students that are interested in this type of activity do not have many choices. Joining a different club that encompasses more than just social deduction games would not allow us to create a community of people with shared interests as easily, which is an important aspect of this club, and would not give us enough space to hold our growing in-person meetings every week. It has been shown by the member count that there is a significant number of people who specifically want to play social deduction games at our meetings as opposed to other types of games. Many people have never played social deduction games so joining this club will lead to students having a unique experience.
